About the Role
The Group Corporate Development team at LSEG is seeking a senior associate to support the definition of group and divisional M&A strategy and the execution of key opportunities. This integral role involves supporting all aspects of the team's activities to identify, evaluate, and complete M&A strategy and transaction projects end-to-end, building relationships across the business and developing high-quality analysis.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple activities across the project portfolio, including supporting live transaction processes, developing M&A strategy and pipelines, origination work, and evaluating inbound opportunities.
- Ensure high-quality work output and timely delivery against key deadlines.
- Support end-to-end transaction execution processes, including partner coordination, M&A project plan management, preparation of transaction assessment materials, and integration planning/support.
- Build high-quality transaction-related financial models and appraisal materials.
- Take ownership of transaction workstreams on selected projects (e.g., due diligence, business plan modeling, integration planning).
- Contribute to key team artifacts on group and divisional M&A strategy and pipelines.
- Support the coordination and evaluation of select origination opportunities.
- Oversee the work of associates and graduates on projects and provide day-to-day training.
- Maintain team tools and resources, including transaction databases, financial models, and Teams sites.
Requirements
- Experience in corporate development, strategy, deal advisory, transaction services, or a finance-centered team is preferred.
- Experience supporting live M&A/Strategy/Investment projects.
- Strong experience working within a team.
- Genuine passion for M&A.

- Relationship management: Ability to build relationships and manage across various partners (strategy, legal, finance, integration, technology, business, product teams, and external partners like investment banking and accounting).
- Execution: Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage activities to achieve specified outcomes within defined timeframes and standards.
- Financial: Solid understanding of financial metrics, statements, and modeling for high-quality analysis and recommendations.
- M&A and Investment: Good understanding of core M&A and investment concepts and ability to apply them to live projects.
- Communication: Strong communication and writing skills for effective messaging to senior partners and committees.
- Analytical: Strong analytical skills in processing complex data and distilling it into clear analysis.
- Comfort with ambiguity: Adaptable, able to pivot promptly based on feedback, and learn quickly.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team and support managers and associates.
