About the Role
The Head of Clinical Placements provides strategic and operational leadership for clinical placements within the School of Health and Medical Sciences, ensuring high-quality delivery, regulatory compliance, and effective partnership management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of the School’s clinical placement strategy and operations.
- Oversee placement planning, allocation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage relationships with placement providers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure excellent student support and experience.
- Lead and develop placement teams.
- Drive continuous service improvement.
- Monitor performance and resources.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on placement provision and partnership development.
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience managing complex operational services, ideally within higher education, healthcare, or clinical placement environments.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
- Experience managing teams and driving service improvement.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and GDPR.
- Knowledge of the healthcare or higher education sector.
- Proven ability to manage complex issues, make informed decisions, and deliver high-quality, student-focused services.
- Role is restricted to redeployee applicants at City St George's.
