About the Role
The Cabinet and Parliamentary Services team in the Department of Customer Service is seeking an Assistant Policy Officer to provide advice and support services related to Cabinet and subcommittee submissions to the Secretary and Ministers.
Responsibilities
- Be part of a team providing high level advice and support to the executives, Secretary and the Ministers.
- Contribute to delivery of Cabinet outcomes and ensure delivery of high-quality coordination, analysis and advice.
- Provide corporate support in the development and delivery of broader policy or project initiatives.
- Help train departmental staff in understanding relevant context and processes.
- Be part of a strongly cohesive and collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to provide accurate, clear and comprehensive advice in short time frames.
- Proven experience liaising and consulting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly tuned review and analysis skills to develop and implement practical solutions to complex matters.
- High attention to detail, well-developed organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure, high-volume environment with tight deadlines to manage rapidly changing priorities and conflicting perspectives.
- Passion, enthusiasm, resilience, and energy to thrive in an agile and adaptive environment.
