About the Role

The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology (IPK) is seeking a student assistant to contribute to international and diverse projects focused on AI, digital assistance systems, production management, factory planning, and digital product passports. This role involves modeling, programming, requirement management, and supporting departmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in international and diverse projects related to AI, digital assistance systems, production management, factory planning, and digital product passports, based on interest and competence.
• Model and program various tasks.
• Gather and manage requirements for different technologies and tools.
• Take ownership of smaller sub-projects in concept, technology, and software areas, including planning and implementation.
• Conduct intensive research on current issues.
• Create presentations.
• Provide support in department-wide projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, or a related engineering field.
• Very good German and English language skills.
• Very good Office software skills.
• Interest in sustainable production systems, digitalization solutions, and business process modeling.
• Demonstrated responsibility, initiative, strong communication skills, and a structured, goal-oriented approach.
• Motivation to independently acquire new knowledge and methods.
• Willingness to think beyond assigned tasks and drive own ideas.
