About the Role

This role involves managing import and export customs clearance, export controls, and acting as the appointed customs representative. You will coordinate with shipping companies, handle reporting, and support the sales administration team when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create customs declarations (ATLAS/Export) and export/customs documents (Carnet, A.TR., EUR.1, Certificate of Origin).
  • Review customs and freight invoices.
  • Maintain the MRN list.
  • Implement export regulations, including BAFA applications, sanctions list screening, dual-use checks, and end-use declarations, with documentation in the ERP/DMS.
  • Act as the internal point of contact for audits and training.
  • Assume the responsible role of the appointed customs representative with professional authority and direct reporting to management.
  • Commission and coordinate freight forwarders and couriers.
  • Manage trade fair shipments.
  • Perform Track & Trace.
  • Handle confirmations of arrival.
  • Manage digital filing in the DMS.
  • Complete INTRASTAT and DESTATIS reports.
  • Support the team with order processing and creating shipping documents during peak times.

Requirements

  • Completed commercial or logistical apprenticeship.
  • Several years of professional experience (ideally >= 3 years) in customs and import/export of economic goods.
  • Sound knowledge of customs and foreign trade law, as well as export controls (dual-use, BAFA).
  • Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., ABAS, Salesforce) and MS Office.
  • Very good written and spoken German and English.
  • Resilience to stress, flexibility, an independent, structured way of working, and a broad perspective.
  • Class B driver's license is an advantage.
