About the Role

This role offers a rare opportunity to join a business with over 90 years of operation, focused on creating, connecting, and caring for communities. You will join a highly skilled and motivated team delivering a diverse range of multidisciplinary Utilities projects across New South Wales, driving your career forward with industry-relevant experience and on-the-job skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) estimating process, liaising with Client, Partners, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
  • Lead estimates by setting up templates, developing procurement schedules, and presenting first principles methodology at reviews.
  • Utilize first principles to develop accurate estimates for Utility-based projects, predominantly Water and Waste Water Treatment and distribution.
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, and production times.
  • Obtain and review offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.
  • Mentor and train junior estimating staff.

Requirements

  • Mechanical or Electrical tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant trade background.
  • Proven experience and track record as a Senior Estimator in a tier 1 environment.
  • Experience pricing large and small projects, ideally involving Utility Infrastructure and some O&M experience.
  • 7+ years of leading estimates and managing other Estimators within a team environment.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess a positive and productive attitude.
  • Experience in Water / Waste Water, Power, or Gas Utility infrastructure.
  • Experience in using Expert Estimator is desired, but not a requirement.
  • Adopting and driving Fulton Hogan’s Living Safely 2.0 culture.
