About the Role
The Solution Engineer will translate business needs into scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology designs. This role is pivotal in shaping the technology landscape that underpins client experience, operational efficiency, and long-term strategic growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support during build, integration, and deployment phases, including prototypes, reference implementations, and technical troubleshooting.
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture across the full project lifecycle from requirements and conceptual design through to build, testing, deployment, and transition to operations.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs, constraints, and strategic objectives.
- Develop high-level and detailed solution designs, including architecture diagrams, integration patterns, data flows, and security considerations.
- Evaluate technologies and platforms, recommending options that balance cost, scalability, performance, and alignment with Group Technology standards.
- Embed security by design principles into all architecture and design activities.
- Collaborate with engineers, developers, and Group Technology teams to validate and refine solution designs.
- Support functional and non-functional testing to ensure solution integrity and performance.
- Produce high-quality documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-sharing materials for operational teams.
- Contribute to the technology strategy, design standards, and continuous improvement of engineering and delivery practices.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in solution design, architecture, or technical consulting roles.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in building and developing technology solutions.
- Experience designing and architecting business-critical systems in complex environments.
- Strong ability to collaborate, elicit requirements, and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Broad knowledge of IT technologies, cloud platforms, integration patterns, and security principles.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Proven experience working alongside engineering teams.
- Track record of improving design, development, or delivery processes.
- Ability to align technology decisions with business strategy.
- Analytical, structured problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
