About the Role

Providing technical leadership and oversight for the Mechanical Design function, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality mechanical design solutions that meet business, statutory, contractual, and client requirements. Support technical assurance, design governance, and continuous improvement across projects.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical leadership and advice on mechanical design matters.
  • Reviewing and assuring mechanical design deliverables, standards, and compliance.
  • Managing the development and implementation of mechanical design processes and best practices.
  • Line management and development of MEP Design team members.
  • Overseeing internal and external audits, certification, and compliance activities.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of new tools, technologies, and ways of working.
  • Directing design reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identifying, managing, and mitigating technical risks and design quality issues.
  • Supporting internal and external audits, certification activities, and compliance reviews.
  • Delivering technical training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Supporting multidisciplinary coordination and technical workshops.
  • Supporting business development activities, bids, and technical proposals.
  • Monitoring the technical performance of design partners and supply chain members.
  • Supporting commissioning, testing, and handover activities.
  • Contributing to net zero carbon objectives through efficient and sustainable mechanical design solutions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years' experience delivering mechanical design on complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, heating and cooling systems, plant design, technical assurance, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Experience in large-scale commercial, hospitality, entertainment, infrastructure, or highly serviced developments is desirable.
