About the Role
The Director of Nursing provides leadership and strategic direction for all inpatient nursing and emergency services within an acute care hospital. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining regulatory compliance and driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing operations, staffing, clinical practice, and professional development
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care across all inpatient units
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and senior administration
- Drive excellence in patient outcomes and operational performance
- Lead initiatives to strengthen clinical quality and enhance patient experience
- Support workforce engagement and promote a culture of accountability, compassion, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas in good standing
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care hospital
- Demonstrated success overseeing multiple inpatient units and high-acuity clinical operations
- Proven experience with regulatory compliance including Joint Commission, DNV, CMS, and state regulations
- Strong background in quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice
