About the Role
The Senior Technical Lead is responsible for leading the development of software product and integrated solutions that meet customer expectations. You will create the solution architecture and design for your product in collaboration with Digital Hub platform and architects. You will oversee and make decisions on the overall design and development of the platform as well as the end-to-end lifecycle, aligning to best practices in collaboration with product and architecture. You will maintain a high degree of technical and business acumen related to your product to effectively contribute to the architecture and overall lifecycle of the solution.
Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional team to develop, modify, configure and integrate solutions to meet business requirements and engineering specifications
- Collaborate with the business PO to plan product work, prioritizing tech debt and other technical vitalization items
- Deliver solution architecture artifacts that define non-functional requirements and implementations as well as end-to-end system and business impacts in collaboration with architects and other teams
- Maintain and enforce technology best practices, policies and procedures regarding coding standards, versioning, quality, and configuration
- Drive product improvements that will accelerate delivery, increase quality, and reduce maintenance
- Collaborate closely with multiple teams to deliver solutions
- Build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external partners
- Focus on continuous learning and professional development
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to other team members
- Drive an agile mindset within the product stack that measures progress over perfection
- Hold yourself and your team accountable to contribute to the overall digital modernization of the organization
- Ensure solutions are enhanced, secured, and upgraded to evolve the roadmap
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience delivering software, integration, or platform engineering solutions within different a structured SDLC
- Strong understanding of system integrations, including working knowledge of APIs
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Proficiency in modern software development practices, including unit testing, continuous integration, test-driven development (TDD), and automated testing
- Be a technical thought leader, overseeing and setting development and quality standards, including code reviews, version control, documentation, testing, and platform monitoring and alerting
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices and standards
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with business stakeholders
- Ability to adapt quickly and pivot in response to changing priorities and business needs
- Experience coaching and mentoring developers in requirements analysis, design patterns, and development best practices
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences (both written and verbal)
- Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket (Git)
- Experience in the financial services industry is an asset
- Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.
- High level of proficiency with Salesforce Experience Cloud and Salesforce development (Lightning Web Components)

Salary/Compensations
- $113,500 - $163,500 annually
