About the Role
We’re seeking a Handy Person to carry out general preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of building services, including air conditioning, plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and general repairs. In this role, you’ll support BGIS clients in maintaining safe, reliable, and well-presented facilities while working as part of a collaborative and professional team.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and building systems
- Undertake repairs and respond to reactive maintenance requests via helpdesk
- Conduct site inspections, equipment checks, and provide recommendations for asset upkeep
- Liaise with Facilities Managers, Supervisors, and subcontractors to deliver maintenance services efficiently
- Accurately record data and update work orders in BGIS systems
- Support capital works projects and assist with reporting requirements
- Participate in after-hours call-out roster as required
- Ensure compliance with WHSE standards, codes, and BGIS procedures
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in general maintenance, building, or facilities management environments
- Strong all-rounder skills across plumbing, tiling, painting, carpentry, and building repairs
- High School Certificate or equivalent (minimum)
- White Card and current driver’s licence (mandatory)
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proven commitment to WHSE, quality, and compliance systems
- Full working rights in Australia (essential)
