About the Role
This is a hands-on senior role at the intersection of policy, legislation, project delivery, operations, data, and stakeholder engagement. You will lead work to understand current arrangements, identify issues and dependencies, and develop practical options to support future reform. The role requires interpreting legislation and contractual arrangements, working through complex operational issues, managing cross-agency relationships, and preparing clear advice for senior decision-makers.

Requirements
- Experience leading complex policy, legislative, regulatory, operational or service delivery projects.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret legislation, policy, contracts, business processes or governance arrangements and prepare legislative drafting instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple dependencies, risks, timeframes and stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build trust, negotiate outcomes and manage competing interests.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing Cabinet Submissions and other advice for senior executives & governance forums.
- Sound judgement, resilience and the ability to provide clear, evidence-based advice on sensitive or complex issues.
- Strong experience developing and delivering policy, legislative or regulatory reform, particularly in areas involving privacy, consent or information handling is highly desirable.
