About the Role

As a Legal Counsel (Junior or Mid-Level), you will support the a&o team on a regional and global level with a variety of legal tasks and projects. Your responsibilities will include legal advice and support on various aspects of business law, M&A and real estate transactions, drafting and reviewing contracts, monitoring legal changes, handling daily legal work, including legal inquiries from various European jurisdictions, and coordinating transactions with external legal advisors. Certain legal matters require close collaboration with other departments. You will report to the General Counsel.

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and support on various aspects of business law, M&A and real estate transactions.
Draft and review contracts.
Monitor legal changes.
Handle daily legal work, including legal inquiries from various European jurisdictions.
Coordinate transactions with external legal advisors.
Collaborate closely with other departments on specific legal matters.

Requirements

Completed legal studies in Germany (Bachelor or Master, Diplom-Jurist with the first state examination, Business Lawyer, fully qualified lawyer).
Preferably at least 2-3 years (or more) of professional experience.
Knowledge and/or professional experience in corporate law or corporate finance is highly desirable.
Additional experience in other areas of business law is also a great advantage (real estate law, commercial law, data protection law (GDPR), or labor law).
Fluent written and spoken English and German with excellent communication skills.
Practical experience working in different legal jurisdictions is an additional advantage.
