About the Role

Lead the development and execution of the HSEQ strategy across multiple business units, strengthening governance, building capability, driving accountability, and embedding a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Drive critical risk management, verification, and operational assurance activities.
  • Lead and mentor a team of HSE Advisors.
  • Lead audit, incident investigation, corrective action, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Engage with Project Managers, senior leadership, and clients on strategic HSEQ matters.
  • Drive meaningful cultural improvement across safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • Provide HSEQ leadership across tenders, project mobilisation, and operational activities.
  • Build capability through coaching, mentoring, training, and leadership development.

Requirements

  • Experienced HSEQ leader within the construction, remediation, and marine sector.
  • Commercially aware, operationally credible, and highly effective at influencing people at all levels.
  • Leads from the front, builds trust quickly, and creates environments where people succeed safely and perform at their best.
  • Energised by the opportunity to build, improve, and influence, not simply maintain the status quo.
  • Leadership experience across safety, quality, environmental, and risk functions.
  • Exposure to Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) certification system preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ legislation and compliance frameworks.
  • A collaborative leadership style focused on people, culture, and continuous improvement.
  • Credibility and resilience to drive change within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience in Tier 1, Multistorey CBD work, Fuel, concrete/steel remediation is highly regarded.
  • Strong background in Risk Management and audit processes.
  • Proven ability to identify trends and implement targeted improvement programs.
  • Understanding of Quality Management systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel to regional areas in NSW as required.
  • Subject to a pre-employment medical, background checks, and ongoing medicals.
