About the Role
NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital seeks a Physician Assistant for its Emergency Department. This role is crucial in delivering world-class care and advancing the hospital's mission of Putting Patients First. You will work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment alongside experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and specialists, providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of emergency care, including patient assessment, triage, and management.
- Perform emergency resuscitation and stabilization.
- Evaluate and treat patients in the Fast Track area.
- Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, chest tube insertion, and central venous line placement.
- Develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide patient education and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1–2 years of Emergency Department experience as a Physician Assistant.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License.
- Current NCCPA Certification.
- Current ACLS and BLS Certifications.
- New York State Infection Control Certification.
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.
