About the Role
This role combines payroll administration, HR systems support, reporting, and process improvement. You will work closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure employee data is accurate, systems are effective, and payroll processes run smoothly. You will be a key support within the payroll function, helping maintain compliance, improve efficiencies, and provide a high level of service to employees and managers.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and validation of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls
- Maintain accurate employee records across payroll and HR systems
- Manage employee lifecycle administration including onboarding, transfers, promotions, and terminations
- Prepare employment contracts, variations, and employee documentation
- Ensure payroll and employment records meet compliance requirements
- Assist with payroll reporting, data analysis, and workforce insights
- Identify data issues, complete data cleansing, and recommend improvements
- Support payroll system testing, troubleshooting, and system enhancements
- Maintain payroll processes, documentation, and audit records
- Assist with payroll audits and compliance activities
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency
- Support Payroll Officers during peak periods and provide backup across payroll functions
- Build strong relationships with employees, managers, HR, and Finance teams
Requirements
- Previous experience in payroll administration or payroll support
- Experience preparing employment contracts and HR documentation
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, superannuation, and compliance requirements
- Experience using payroll and HRIS systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
- A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
