About the Role
The Chief Medical Officer will serve as the external clinical voice of Abby Care, defining the clinical strategy and outcomes narrative to build trust with payors, regulators, and the industry. Reporting to the CEO, this role involves shaping the company's clinical value proposition and establishing family-led care as a recognized clinical model.
Responsibilities
- Advise the CEO and executive team on clinical strategy, care model evolution, and external positioning
- Build the clinical narrative across pediatrics, adult home health, and senior care for clinical and payor audiences
- Serve as the external clinical face of the company with payors, health systems, state regulators, and industry bodies
- Own the evidence strategy by partnering with analytics and clinical operations to design outcomes programs
- Publish results through whitepapers, peer-reviewed work, and industry venues
- Represent the company at conferences, roundtables, and advisory forums
- Build the company's speaking, media, and thought leadership platform
Requirements
- Physician (MD/DO) with active or recent clinical practice
- Board certification in a relevant specialty such as internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, or palliative care
- Existing platform and reputation in home-based care, value-based care, Medicaid, or complex population health
- Prior experience as a CMO or senior Medical Director at a plan, health system, or digital health company
- Demonstrated ability to translate clinical outcomes into commercial wins
- Strong external presence including published work, conference speaking, and payor relationships
- Fluency in HEDIS, CAHPS, risk adjustment, total cost of care, and value-based arrangement mechanics
- Ability to work collaboratively with commercial, operations, product, and data teams
