About the Role
This entry-level position supports the processing and settlement of securities transactions, ensuring accurate and timely settlement of domestic equity transactions within a strong control environment. It offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain exposure to financial markets and develop operational expertise.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day processing and settlement of Japanese domestic equity transactions.
- Perform trade verification and transaction processing to ensure accuracy and completeness of booking instructions.
- Monitor settlement activities and assist in resolving settlement breaks, discrepancies, and exceptions.
- Perform cash and securities reconciliations, data validation, and control checks.
- Complete daily operational tasks, reporting activities, and record maintenance accurately and within required deadlines.
- Prepare and support internal and external regulatory and management reports.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, internal stakeholders, and business partners regarding operational and settlement-related matters.
- Participate in periodic General Ledger (GL) reconciliation and proofing activities.
- Assist in operational projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
- Develop a strong understanding of securities products, operational workflows, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, business partners, custodians, and market participants.
- Demonstrate sound risk awareness and adhere to Citi policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, escalating issues appropriately.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in financial services, operations, securities services, or a related field.
- Recent graduates and second-career graduates with a strong interest in financial markets and securities operations are encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new products, processes, and systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
