About the Role
Design and implement subsystem/manufacturing software that forms the foundation of PlayStation, from power-on to game execution. This role involves requirement analysis, design, implementation, evaluation, and integration of software for system controllers, application processors, and design/evaluation/manufacturing inspection software. This is a highly specialized technical area requiring deep engagement with hardware specifications to support PlayStation's startup, control, reliability, and manufacturing quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement subsystem/manufacturing software.
- Handle requirement analysis, design, implementation, evaluation, and integration.
- Develop software for system controllers, application processors, and design/evaluation/manufacturing inspection.
- Lead software development or development efforts within the organization.
- Collaborate with various organizations including electrical design, LSI development, mechanical design, QA, product planning, manufacturing, and post-shipment support.
- Design and build software optimized for PlayStation's unique architecture.
Requirements
- Software development experience using C/C++.
- Development experience in one of the following: device drivers, embedded systems, control software using real-time OS or Linux, or firmware/microcontroller software.
- Basic knowledge of SoC/CPU architecture.
- Fundamental understanding of hardware operations.
- Technical literacy to interpret specification documents.
- Experience in product prototyping and mass production (preferred).
- Experience developing prototyping evaluation software or manufacturing systems (preferred).
- Experience leading a software development team (preferred).
