About the Role

The Student Finance Advisor assists prospective American Institute students in all pre-enrollment aspects of the financial aid process by providing accurate information regarding funding. This role also services current and former students by providing superior customer service, Financial Aid processing, and loan counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels and advises students about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, loan management and financial planning.
  • Answers questions, inquiries or requests from students, regarding financial aid programs and eligibility as well as Alternative Funding Sources.
  • Evaluates and resolves student inquiries, issues, and problems, ensuring appropriate action is taken to the student's satisfaction.
  • Maintains telephone coverage during assigned shift and is available to answer inbound calls from students and internal customers.
  • Assists students in all aspects of the financial aid process via telephone or e-mail by delivering accurate, up-to-date information in a calm, polite, professional demeanor.
  • Advises students on Loan/Grant Eligibility Status and provides guidance/follow-up where resolution is needed.
  • Assists students with completing necessary Financial Aid documents by providing guidance in a calm, professional manner.
  • Provides accurate information regarding students' Financial Aid by referencing training materials.
  • Acts in compliance with Federal and Institutional regulations.
  • Adheres to set schedule.
  • Acquires, enters, edits, and updates Student Data in various internal and external systems.
  • Attends required training sessions.
  • Follows all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assists the business to maintain higher enrollment conversion rates by providing exceptional customer service to students.
  • Meets assigned productivity goals.
