About the Role

Microsoft Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (CHIE) is responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission by delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online businesses. The Cloud Hardware Analytics & Tools (CHAT) team develops advanced analytical and tooling solutions to support and improve Azure's quality. This role combines data engineering with data science, contributing directly to Azure-level projects and highly visible platforms through data-driven approaches.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for custom and existing AI solutions that will provide business impact across our division.
Design and develop data solutions to enable complex AI and analytical solutions.
Understand and stay connected to industry AI solutions.

Requirements

Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience OR equivalent experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Requires access to information controlled for export under export control regulations.
Must provide proof of country of citizenship or US residency or other protected status for assessment of eligibility to access export-controlled information.
Must verify citizenship with a valid passport or other documents for lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.

USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area)

We further use that data to power AI solutions across the SCHIE org designed to improve efficiency, quality and innovation.
