About the Role
ConnectSydney is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage the formation, documentation, and estimation of road infrastructure, structural, corridor, tunnel, and ITS projects. This role will focus on delivering concrete and asphalt projects, overseeing site maintenance, and new/upgrade works.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of plans for maintenance and new works methodology.
- Assist in the preparation of comprehensive works estimates.
- Prepare business tender documents to protect company interests.
- Review and implement strategies to increase efficiency in maintenance, field works, and project delivery.
- Participate in the development and implementation of bid strategies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of business systems, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee site works including maintenance, field works, and project delivery.
- Review all contract activities to ensure project/operational objectives are met and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the management and administration of sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Monitor progress and forecasts, compiling monthly reports on cost, time, safety, and environmental aspects.
- Manage the performance of reporting staff, establishing clear responsibilities and authorities.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated strong business development and management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated understanding of planning and scheduling functions.
- Experience in the delivery of concrete and/or asphalt projects.
- Familiarity with commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of projects.
- Good command of MS Project and/or similar software.
- Understanding of schedule sequencing and logical linkages between activities.
- Experience with implementation of earned value analysis.
- Familiarity with all activities involved in setting up project teams and site establishment for multidiscipline projects.
