About the Role

ConnectSydney is seeking an enthusiastic Site Engineer to join their team, focusing on delivering the Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract for the Harbour Zone. The role involves scheduling, updating schedules, and providing support to achieve project objectives, with a primary focus on asphalt resurfacing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Set up multi-level schedules for projects, update schedules, and report progress against baseline.
  • Deliver work within budget.
  • Ensure timesheets for staff and subcontractors are properly completed and authorized in a timely manner.
  • Provide weekly, fortnightly, and monthly report input as required.
  • Manage and control the budget associated with the relevant scope of work, including earned value, cost control in accordance with the Work Breakdown Structure, and forecasting of revenue and cost to complete for monthly reporting.
  • Plan, manage, and implement site establishment activities to ensure all site-specific and contract requirements are met.
  • Manage and achieve the delivery of engineering design aspects of projects through management of design activities until completion and submission of all deliverables on time, to budget, and to the agreed quality standard.
  • Prepare, update, and implement the Design Management Plan for the project.
  • Prepare and manage the list of deliverables/tasks from the overall design estimate and their transfer to the baseline design schedule and cost control tools.
  • Drive the development of the design phase and interface activities of the program, ensuring ownership by all project design team members.
  • Liaise with clients, sites, and vendors on design and documentation work, and organize/manage meetings as required.
  • Ensure technical, program, quality, environmental, community, industrial, safety, and commercial obligations are achieved and maintained on site.
  • Liaise with clients, manage subcontractors and suppliers on project site issues, and organize/manage meetings as required.
  • Liaise and coordinate with all external parties and relevant statutory authorities, and manage their attendance on site as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering
  • Current driver's license
  • Demonstrated understanding of planning and scheduling functions
  • Experience in the delivery of asphalt and associated works
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of projects
  • Good command of MS Project and/or similar software
  • Understanding of schedule sequencing and logical linkages between activities
  • Implementation of earned value analysis
  • Familiarity with all activities involved in setting up project teams and site establishment relating to multidiscipline projects
  • Ability to work within and lead a team
