About the Role
The AI Product Owner translates AI opportunities into practical capabilities that enhance digital experiences, customer self-service, support operations, vendor management, and enterprise workflows. This role bridges business objectives with AI-enabled solutions by defining product outcomes, prioritizing use cases, managing delivery backlogs, and supporting adoption. They collaborate with business stakeholders, AI Automation Engineers, AI/ML Engineers, platform owners, and delivery teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and prioritize AI and automation opportunities across customer engagement, operational enablement, vendor management, procurement workflows, and enterprise technology processes.
- Define product vision, scope, user needs, success metrics, adoption objectives, and measurable business outcomes for prioritized AI initiatives.
- Develop business cases, value hypotheses, and prioritization criteria using customer impact, business value, feasibility, risk, effort, data readiness, adoption readiness, and strategic alignment.
- Own prioritized product backlogs, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, release priorities, and success measures.
- Partner with AI Automation Engineers, AI/ML Engineers, platform teams, and delivery partners through discovery, prototyping, build, testing, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, workflow assessments, interviews, user research, and independent research to validate use cases, resolve tradeoffs, and translate insights into clear product requirements.
- Drive responsible adoption and performance measurement through governance alignment, launch planning, training, documentation, communications, change management, and reporting on adoption, productivity, customer satisfaction, operational savings, cycle time, and ROI.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, digital strategy, process improvement, customer experience, or a related role.
- Experience supporting cross-functional technology initiatives from discovery through launch, adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to translate business needs, customer pain points, operational workflows, and research insights into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, success metrics, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience using Agile delivery methods, backlog management, release planning, iterative delivery, and stakeholder feedback loops.
- Ability to define OKRs and KPIs, validate value hypotheses, measure adoption, and track business outcomes for AI initiatives.
- Ability to use SQL, Python, business intelligence tools, or similar data analysis tools to explore data.
- Ability to independently create and iterate functional prototypes using AI-assisted development tools to support experimentation, business validation, and product discovery.
- Experience working with technical teams to deliver digital products, workflow automation, enterprise applications, data-driven capabilities, or AI-enabled solutions.
- Stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, analytical problem-solving, and change management skills.
- Experience supporting customer-facing digital platforms, customer portals, authenticated experiences, customer self-service, or service operations workflows.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as CRM, Drupal CMS, DAM, service management, marketing technology, knowledge management, contract management, procurement, or vendor management systems.
- Experience with Dataiku, Camunda, BPMN 2.0, Snowflake, AWS, or similar enterprise AI, data, workflow orchestration, business process management, and automation technologies.
- Experience applying AI solution patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation, text-to-SQL, semantic data models, AI agents, copilots, prompt libraries, human-in-the-loop workflows, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience managing AI use-case portfolios, product roadmaps, investment prioritization, responsible AI practices, governance, privacy, security, model monitoring, or enterprise risk management.
- Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
