About the Role
This is a one-year, full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position within the Theoretical Physics group at City St George's, University of London. The role involves conducting original research on the Royal Society-funded S-matrix Bootstrap project, contributing to the group's activities, and fostering a collegial research culture.
Responsibilities
- Conduct original research in scattering amplitudes and related areas of theoretical and mathematical physics.
- Develop innovative directions connected with the Royal Society-funded S-matrix Bootstrap project.
- Contribute to the research activities of the Theoretical Physics group.
- Support seminar and conference organisation.
- Assist with research student supervision where appropriate.
- Publish and present high-quality research.
- Build external collaborations.
- Contribute positively to the Department’s collegial and interdisciplinary research culture.
Requirements
- PhD awarded, or a PhD thesis submitted, in Theoretical Physics, Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
- Strong research record and expertise in one or more relevant areas, including scattering amplitudes, S-matrix bootstrap, string theory, holography, integrability, gravitational physics, conformal field theory or related mathematical physics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to communicate research effectively.
- Ability to contribute positively to an inclusive research environment.
