About the Role
Eli Lilly Canada is seeking a skilled professional with expertise in pharmaceutical market insights and analytics to lead market insights for key brands. This role involves defining business problems, uncovering insights, and influencing business partners to make better decisions. The position supports global and regional market research projects and collaborates with local brand management to execute affiliate-specific projects. The individual will be a core member of the product team, informing strategic decisions and gaining detailed knowledge of the Canadian competitive environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze market data to uncover business performance drivers.
- Lead the sales incentive target setting exercise.
- Design dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and product performance.
- Provide strategic insights by analyzing competitor, industry, and market dynamics.
- Run competitive intelligence initiatives, monitoring competitor clinical designs, regulatory filings, and product pipelines.
- Deliver regular insights through updates and alerts via dashboards, newsletters, and internal channels.
- Support product lifecycle decisions and go-to-market strategies.
- Lead inputs for brand plans and financial planning.
- Monitor and track performance against monthly forecasts.
- Identify new sources of insights to be integrated into the Insight Framework.
- Determine new AI-powered approaches for deeper insights and decision-making.
- Develop a deep understanding of therapeutic areas, competitive landscape, and evolving customer needs.
- Lead primary and secondary market research projects.
- Identify, define, and prioritize input needs from specific customer groups.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to frame research objectives.
- Translate business problems into research plans and methodologies.
- Present insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Identify new approaches for dynamic and frequent market insights.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to determine strategies and align on assumptions.
- Enable agile decision-making by delivering timely insights.
- Support product launch planning and lifecycle management with insight-driven recommendations.
- Prepare and present findings to senior leadership.
- Identify strategic partnerships with 3rd party data providers.
- Work with the Global team to leverage BIA capabilities and create synergies with similar affiliates.
- Work in partnership with the Engagement team on commercial and medical initiatives.
- Leverage AI solutions and tools to automate and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Ensure data integrity and efficient use of secondary data sources.
- Actively contribute to the Insight Factory to design and implement new analytics capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of combined experience in market insights, competitive intelligence, data analysis, and market research within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Deep understanding of Market Research principles.
- Strong knowledge of all available data sources in Canada.
- Understanding of the Canadian Pharmaceutical market environment.
- Fluency with data analytics and automation tools, including Power BI.
- Demonstrated confidence in communicating strategic decision positions.
- Marketing and/or Sales experience.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in science or business administration.
