About the Role

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the Funding, Treasury and Liquidity (FTL) Apex Application Development team, specifically supporting the Central Funding Group which handles secured funding (repo and security lending). The role involves business analysis and testing outcomes within an agile technical development team, collaborating with front office trading, collateral management, operational support, and other technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to create and document business requirements for tactical and strategic changes.
  • Coordinate with development and QA through the software development and release cycle.
  • Communicate with the team and stakeholders from requirement inception through to code delivery.
  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks, and analyze, mitigate, and escalate where appropriate.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment supporting production queries impacting the application and user processes.
  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.
  • Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.
  • Contribute to ongoing administrative program activities as required.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience as a business analyst with in-depth knowledge of Capital Markets front to back trade processing flows.
  • Understanding of Capital Markets instruments including Fixed Income, Equities & Equity Derivatives.
  • Demonstrable technical capability to use tools to query databases, identify message structures, and troubleshoot data flow issues in production environments.
  • Capability to learn about new tools including AI tools to create documents, requirements and test scenarios.
  • Strong analytical skills for data analysis and lineage, and problem solving.
  • Expert in writing requirements and associated test cases.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented, able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience with repo or securities lending trading processes or collateral management (Nice-to-have).
  • Clear understanding of Market and Reference data (Securities & Pricing) (Nice-to-have).
  • Proficient in drawing business process flow proven through recent project experience (Nice-to-have).
  • Degree-level education in computer science, business or science subject (Nice-to-have).
  • CFA or Canadian Securities Course or CBAP Certification (Nice-to-have).
