About the Role
Swissport is a global leader in aviation services, providing Ground Handling, Cargo Handling, and Passenger Services. The Cargo Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, loading/unloading air cargo, ensuring accurate documentation, and adhering to regulatory requirements. This role involves leading a team to ensure safety, security, and operational performance in line with company policies and values.
Responsibilities
- Act as a functional member of the operational team on a shift basis.
- Serve as a technical expert on the ground.
- Coach and coordinate the assigned team.
- Perform tasks stipulated by SLAs, such as handling aircraft doors.
- Ensure accurate service capturing for invoicing and flight/task reporting.
- Allocate tasks to team members during warehouse turnarounds.
- Ensure compliance with Operating Procedures (SOP, LOP) and Station Safety Rules.
- Supervise Emergency Procedures during their shift.
- Supervise all Operations within their purview and stand in for Duty Manager as required.
- Provide team members with work instructions during shifts or turnarounds.
- Lead and train employees on the job as necessary.
- Provide feedback to Duty Managers on employee performance for development and disciplinary actions.
- Escalate customer complaints to Duty Managers promptly.
- Assume responsibility for day-of allocation tasks on a rotating basis in small stations.
- Conduct QHSE related daily checks and inspections, reporting accurately into systems.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- 5 years of operational experience in ground handling, cargo, or aircraft fueling services.
- Excellent working knowledge of proper safety practices, procedural compliance, and operations delivery.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to coach and motivate teams to deliver high-quality standards.
- Ability to resolve problems with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional work relationships with teams and customers.
