About the Role
The Design Director is an integral part of the business development team, responsible for hands-on concepting, campaign development and design, as well as managing a team of designers and pitching to clients. The ideal candidate must be able to concept from scratch while collaborating with business development design managers across various touch points throughout the pitch life cycle, including written materials, microsites, Keynote decks, and physical and digital deliverables. This role is a player/coach, leading from the front and coaching junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Understand design briefs and timelines
- Conceptualize pitch look and feel and create templates to be applied across assets
- Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
- Format and design Keynote presentations and InDesign documents
- Work with pitch leaders and agency teams to produce final design
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a production or presentation designer in a comparable environment
- Ability to work flexible hours
- In-depth knowledge of Keynote and Powerpoint as well as the Adobe Creative Suite
- Very detailed-oriented with impeccable and well-organized digital files
- Deep knowledge of presentation specs, resolution, incorporating video and motion files
- Ability to design comps or charts needed for presentations
- Ability to take a design brief and execute a functional and pleasing presentation
- Ability to articulate a design POV to a large group of stakeholders
- Self-starter and proactive to get the direction and content needed to meet presentation deadlines
