About the Role

Ontario County Planning Department seeks a qualified Code Enforcement Officer to join their team. This is a full-time position with provisional appointment pending a civil service exam.

Responsibilities

  • Perform code enforcement duties.

Requirements

  • Possession of an Associate Degree, or higher, in Mechanical Technology, Construction Technology, Construction Administration, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Architectural Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Drafting, Computer Aided Drafting or a closely related field.
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma AND two (2) years of full-time paid experience in building construction administration or management, building code inspection and/or enforcement.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Possession of an appropriate New York State Operator’s license.
  • Completion of mandated training as established by the New York State Department of State.
