About the Role
Assists in planning and execution of meetings and special events, contributing to departmental strategies and ensuring seamless event turnover from sales to operations.
Responsibilities
- Researches and analyzes new products, pricing, and services of competitors.
- Apprises property of all groups that will impact operations.
- Assists in executing event management strategy aligned with the company's business strategy.
- Conducts daily walk-throughs of the banquet floor to ensure client satisfaction and quality standards.
- Develops working relationships with outside vendors and establishes prices and service agreements.
- Creates opportunities to upsell during event planning.
- Manages department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budget goals.
- Creates an atmosphere in event management operations that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
- Sets a positive example for guest relations.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
- Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
- Strives to improve service performance.
- Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, and 1 year of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
Education Level
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
