About the Role

Assists in planning and execution of meetings and special events, contributing to departmental strategies and ensuring seamless event turnover from sales to operations.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and analyzes new products, pricing, and services of competitors.
  • Apprises property of all groups that will impact operations.
  • Assists in executing event management strategy aligned with the company's business strategy.
  • Conducts daily walk-throughs of the banquet floor to ensure client satisfaction and quality standards.
  • Develops working relationships with outside vendors and establishes prices and service agreements.
  • Creates opportunities to upsell during event planning.
  • Manages department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budget goals.
  • Creates an atmosphere in event management operations that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
  • Strives to improve service performance.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, and 1 year of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
