About the Role
Seeking an entry-level Low Voltage Electrician with 1–3 years of experience to support the installation of Building Automation Systems. This role involves installing conduit, pulling and terminating low-voltage wiring, mounting control devices, and working alongside experienced automation professionals to complete commercial HVAC control projects safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install electrical conduit, wiring, and Building Automation System components.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
- Pull, label, and terminate low-voltage wiring.
- Mount and terminate BAS devices including temperature sensors, relays, electronic actuators, and control panels.
- Ensure concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and construction drawings.
- Prepare as-built sketches showing wiring and equipment locations.
- Coordinate work with other trades on active construction sites.
- Attend project meetings as required.
- Maintain compliance with local electrical codes, company standards, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and team members.
- Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects on schedule.
- Work overtime, varied shifts, and travel occasionally as project needs require.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of electrical or low-voltage installation experience.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Basic math skills, including fractions, ratios, percentages, and measurements.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and safe tool operation.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry 50–150 pounds as required.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at varying heights.
- Ability to maintain good vision and hearing.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Skills
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and Building Automation Systems is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
