About the Role

Investor Relations plays a critical role in supporting Lightspeed's engagement with the investor community by developing and maintaining financial models, coordinating with analysts, and effectively communicating the company’s business strategy and financial goals. The role involves close collaboration with senior management, institutional investors, and sell-side analysts, while also working with FP&A, Financial Reporting, and Legal teams at Lightspeed.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with equity research analysts to maintain consensus estimates and communicate Lightspeed’s business model and financial goals.
  • Take ownership of the earnings process, be accountable for the IR press release, earnings release, annual report and quarterly projects.
  • Interact with senior management and liaison with institutional investors.
  • Track and compare key performance indicators of Lightspeed and comparable publicly traded companies quarterly to measure Lightspeed’s performance relative to those comparable companies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (FP&A) to fulfill requests and build out appropriate documentation based on business needs.
  • Maintain and develop Excel models on Lightspeed and comparable and competing companies (Shopify, Toast, Square); ability to have great influence on high-level decision making by preparing presentations for management and make strategic recommendations based on market comparables.
  • Negotiate contracts on behalf of Lightspeed and act as main point of contact for our IR partners.
  • Maintain and update Lightspeed’s Investor Relations website.
  • Assist in organizing events such as Podcasts, Webcasts, and Conferences to communicate Lightspeed’s strategy and prospects to the investor community.
  • Collect and analyze reports for ~20 covering analysts to deliver post-earnings updates on key metrics, price targets, ratings, and model changes.
  • Submit quarterly filings and press releases to news agencies and website administrators.
  • Prepare presentation materials for senior management to present at investor conferences.
  • Contribute as part of the wider team to achieve organizational objectives through projects even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping of all Lightspeed sell-side reports, models, and recordings of conference presentations and fireside chats.
  • Assist in event planning - NDRs, Capital Markets Day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Finance
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a similar role
  • Designations, or advancing toward CFA and/or CPA
  • Ability to develop and update complex financial models, reports, and presentations.
  • Advanced understanding of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement items and forecasting for Lightspeed and core competitors.
  • Familiar with financial software (FactSet, Excel add-ins) and ability to communicate financial database information quickly to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of valuation metrics for publicly traded equities including Ev/EBITDA, Ev/Sales, Ev/Gross Profit and DCF.
  • Strong financial writing and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
