About the Role
This role focuses on expediting the collection of accounts receivable balances for a preeminent global law firm, ensuring timely payments and proactive resolution of aged receivables.
Responsibilities
- Expedite collection of accounts receivable balances.
- Ensure receivables are realized at close to 100% and collected in a timely manner.
- Proactively address aged receivables with lawyers and suggest action plans.
- Communicate with Finance Management, Partners, and Billing to understand payment delays.
- Coordinate the resolution of billing issues, including electronic billing reductions.
- Utilize firm standard software to identify and prioritize accounts for follow-up.
- Work with the Cash Team and Billing Team to resolve unapplied/suspense cash items.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reports on top inventory items.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, lawyers, and secretaries regarding receivables and cash receipts.
- Coordinate write-offs of aged or uncollectible invoices.
- Respond to audit requests.
- Facilitate accuracy in cash targets/forecast by communicating collection issues.
- Work on multiple special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum Associates degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience required, higher degree preferred.
- Minimum two years experience with professional services time and billing software (e.g., Elite Enterprise, Aderant Billing Expert, Elite 3E) preferred.
- Minimum two years experience with professional services inventory management software (e.g., ARCS from Minisoft, *Collect from Select Associates) preferred.
- Minimum two years experience in a professional services environment (legal, accounting, consulting, engineering, etc.) working in a Finance department collections role.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel spreadsheets required.
- Excellent verbal, written, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Exemplary customer service with a focus on process improvement.
- Assertive, proactive, courteous and professional demeanor.
- Timely response to requests for assistance.
- Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and be flexible.

- New York: $75,800 - $109,950
- San Francisco: $79,100 - $114,700
