About the Role

The In-Room Dining Operator will accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, punch them in, and relay details for timely delivery. This role maximizes sales through upselling and professionally handles guest concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Successfully punch in orders and relay all details to Captains and servers for timely delivery.
  • Maximize sales through upselling.
  • Accommodate guest concerns in a prompt, professional, and pleasant manner.
  • Perform all specific duties as assigned by In-Room Dining Leaders and Captain.
  • Extend service and exceed guest expectations.
  • Perform opening and closing duties according to outlined standards.
  • Ensure all guest special requests and details are met.
  • Conduct oneself with a pleasant and helpful attitude towards guests, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean environment, free of hazards and malfunctioning equipment, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Organize daily tasks such as amenities, pre-orders, and daily orders.
  • Suggestively sell items and anticipate guest needs and desires.
  • Relay all concerns to the leadership team and record any problems that arise.
  • Follow telephone techniques and procedures.
  • Order and maintain stationary for the department.
  • Adhere to all Safe Standards, ensuring all hygiene and prevention measures are met.
  • Ensure flawless amenity billing, delivery, filing, and preparation.
  • Adhere to alcohol handling procedures and policies.
  • Adhere to all LQA standards set for the department.
  • Work weekends, holidays, and shift work as scheduled.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
  • Constant sitting throughout shift.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
  • May require kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
  • May require ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.

Skills

  • Smart Serve training program certification
  • Previous experience in food and beverage
  • Cash handling/transaction abilities
  • Working knowledge of POS Systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and team player attitude
  • Thoroughly organized and attention to detail oriented
  • Knowledgeable of food products, cooking methods, wines, and spirits
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent Computer Skills
  • Ability to multi-task
