About the Role

The Operator is responsible for completing assigned production duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction by providing support to all areas in the production facility. The role requires competence in forklift and line operations, with opportunities to train and build competence in key production areas such as fillers, milk receiving, batching processing, and palletizing. The Operator also covers breaks and lunches as assigned, supporting the manufacture of dairy-related products.

Responsibilities

Achieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities, and assist with resolving concerns.
Comply with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
Operate facility equipment in assigned areas, including forklift and line operations, and train on fillers, milk receiving, batching processing, and palletizing.
Gain competence on line circuits and learn proper hookups.
Cover breaks, lunches, and other staffing needs as assigned.
Comply with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety on the assigned shift and report concerns.
Work in a safe manner, report safety concerns promptly, and take corrective actions.
Report food safety problems, initiate action, and support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.
Ensure work areas are sanitary and adhere strictly to sanitation practices.
Communicate effectively between shifts and other departments.
Report to work at scheduled times and communicate tardiness and absences in advance.
Report to work in a condition to work.
Be well-groomed and dressed appropriately, complying with GMP dress code standards.
Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct, and company handbook responsibilities.
Maintain a safe work environment and take appropriate action to correct safety concerns.
Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Requirements

Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts.
Ability to understand and respond appropriately to basic to complex employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
Ability to read, write, and communicate using the English language sufficiently for job functions.
Knowledge of the company's mission, purpose, goals, and one's role in achieving them.
Ability to operate facility equipment as required.
Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements.
Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information.
Requires morning, afternoon, and overnight availability any day of the week.
Requests for time off require advance notification and approval.
May require more than 40 hours per week based on business needs.
Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions.
May be subject to exposure to ingredients, allergens, and chemicals used in food manufacturing and sanitation.
Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including office, production, warehouse, and the outside perimeter.
Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment.
Ability to stand and/or sit continuously for a full shift with a meal break.
Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Ability to move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.
