Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems and formulate patient care plans.
- Perform initial preoperative assessment, develop a plan of care, and explain the subsequent phases of surgery.
- Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members.
- Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation.
- Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed.
- Provide patient education.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
