About the Role
Kaufman Dolowich is seeking a motivated, tech-curious individual to support its firm-wide AI initiative. This role offers hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI agents, and emerging legal-tech workflows, working directly with the Chief Information Officer and leadership. No prior professional experience is required, only a genuine interest in AI and a willingness to learn. This part-time position is ideal for students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals aiming to build practical AI experience in a professional services setting.
Responsibilities
- Support adoption and training for Microsoft 365 Copilot for over 400 firm users.
- Assist in building, testing, and documenting AI agent workflows and prompt templates using platforms like Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Power Automate, and LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude).
- Research new AI tools, vendors, and capabilities relevant to legal services, including evaluating LLM providers.
- Help develop proofs of concept and pilot AI solutions for attorneys and business professionals.
- Assist in exploring Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches using internal knowledge sources.
- Research AI governance, security, privacy, and compliance considerations for expanding AI use.
- Track adoption metrics and prepare simple usage reports and dashboards.
- Support the firm's AI Innovation Lab and internal Agent Hackathon initiatives.
- Draft and refine prompt libraries for firm-specific use cases (e.g., legal correspondence, coverage analysis, matter intake).
- Provide administrative and coordination support for AI rollout schedules and training sessions.
- Act as a first line of support for staff learning new AI workflows or encountering unexpected AI outputs.
- Document processes and create simple how-to guides for end users.
- Perform other duties as needed to support firm operations.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field preferred).
- Genuine interest in AI/LLM tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Azure AI Foundry, etc.). Coursework, personal projects, or self-directed learning are acceptable.
- Comfortable learning new software quickly.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office/365.
- Strong written communication skills, capable of writing clear instructions and documentation.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage small projects with light supervision.
- Demonstrates curiosity and initiative.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism and respect for data privacy and security guidelines.
