Responsibilities

  • Immediately recognize system shortcomings, respond to operational and emergency situations, and provide technical guidance during real-time problem management.
  • Operate building systems safely and efficiently, adhering to government regulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform daily site walk-throughs to ensure proper operation of electrical and HVAC equipment and identify potential hazards.
  • Interface with the Critical Operations Team to coordinate the Critical Area Program, including scheduling maintenance, participating in meetings, and communicating with vendors and project management.
  • Identify and remediate safety hazards to ensure a safe environment for staff and occupants.
  • Participate in safety training and follow all company or client safety protocols.
  • Perform all duties safely and in accordance with established work standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date infrastructure and compliance documentation, including building drawings and one-lines.
  • Act in a consulting capacity on projects and new designs.
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance, equipment rounds, and service requests as directed.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and operate mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
  • Inspect and repair pumps, fans, valves, and motors.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and door hardware repairs.
  • Perform emergency or preventative maintenance off-hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Support vendors with maintenance and repair activities.
  • Administer Critical Facility Change Request notifications and Critical Facility Incident Reporting processes.
  • Work within the account's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintain records of building rounds, readings, engineering logs, and data sheets.
  • Track electrical/mechanical loads for all critical systems.
  • Collaborate with the Energy Management team to develop energy reduction and sustainability programs.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in company training and professional development to stay current with industry trends.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet company or client objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state equivalent.
  • Three years of plant building operating experience, data center experience preferred (including UPS systems, emergency generators, and switch-gear).
  • Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Skills

  • Ability to perform all work using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adherence to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of energy-efficient building system operations.
  • Aptitude for and/or practical experience with thermodynamic, electrical, and/or mechanical systems, as well as computer-controlled equipment.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with BAS & CMMS systems preferred.

Experience Level

  • Three years of plant building operating experience
  • Prefer experience in Electrical or HVAC/Refrigeration trades (journeyman level or higher)

Education Level

  • High school diploma or state equivalent
  • Prefer two years of college or related trade schooling
  • Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC’s or the ability to earn within 90 days of hire
