About the Role
The Special Projects team is seeking an independent and driven professional to manage projects from start to finish. Reporting to the Division Manager, this onsite role focuses on safety, planning, scheduling, quality control, and cost management.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership regarding cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract performance
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders, clients, consultants, partners, and subcontractors
- Plan, monitor, and manage construction schedules and milestones
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and contract requirements
- Monitor and report on progress, labour productivity, budget, costs, and forecasts
- Prepare project estimates and negotiate changes in scope
- Prepare and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Review work and contracts for risk and deficiencies
- Ensure availability of materials and equipment for tradespersons
- Complete monthly cost forecasting and checklists accurately and on time
- Complete weekly productivity reports
Requirements
- 5+ years of Mechanical Project Management experience in infrastructure projects up to $2M value
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management
- Experience with chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and mechanical base building infrastructure
- 1-2 years of estimating experience on ICI or Tenant mechanical projects
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check
