Responsibilities

• Maintains the grounds of the facility.
• Repairs structures and equipment.
• Cuts grass using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.).
• Trims hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth.
• Sprays lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
• Plants grass, flowers, and trees and maintains them utilizing hoses or activating sprinkler system.
• Mows grass utilizing a commercial mower.
• Picks up and burns, or carts away, leaves, paper, or other litter.
• Repairs and paints fences, gates, benches, tables, or other structures.
• Removes trash and recyclables.
• Works as part of a team to ensure the requirements of the contract are fulfilled.
• Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Previous landscaping experience or related training.
• Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Good customer service skills.
• Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to function as part of a cohesive team.
• Capable of walking around the location to accomplish various tasks.
• Must be capable of standing for several hours.
• Must be able to withstand cold temperatures in the winter and warm temperatures in the summer.
• Must be able to lift >20 lbs.
• Must be able to push a shovel or other garden tool.
• Must be able to climb hills and embankments.
• Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet.
• Must be able to reach overhead to get at higher locations.
• Must be willing to learn how to operate landscaping equipment.
