About the Role

H.O. Penn Machinery is hiring immediately for a Parts Warehouse Handler in Holtsville, NY. This role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and maximizing the efficiency and productivity of the Parts Department, while also contributing to a culture that focuses on safety.

Responsibilities

  • Pull parts from stock per PSO’s (will-call, counter, shop, transfer, etc.)
  • Respond promptly to customer pick-up orders
  • Put parts in stock from daily stock orders, branch transfers, credits, etc.
  • Assemble Caterpillar and custom hoses
  • Pack and ship parts as needed
  • Truck deliveries as required
  • Ensure accuracy of pulled parts and returned parts
  • Research inventory discrepancies
  • Maintain will-call area and parts warehouse areas for parts retrieval accuracy
  • Maintain proper flow of orders to be pulled
  • Be an active part in the continuous improvement of H.O. Penn’s safety culture
  • Timely completion of any required safety training for self
  • Adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies
  • Understand job risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate those risks, such as wearing all required personal protective equipment as required by task

Requirements

  • Clean & valid driver’s license required, CDL a plus
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse and forklift experience required
  • Basic knowledge of heavy equipment, construction equipment, truck, automotive, or industrial parts preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with basic computer applications including Microsoft Outlook and inventory-related software
  • Standing and walking (including on uneven surfaces)
  • Sitting, body rotation, and forward bending (in both sitting and standing positions)
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs. (machine or team lift for items over 50 lbs.)
  • Carrying up to 50 lbs. for short distances
  • Push/pull tasks requiring up to 75 lbs. of force
  • Climbing stairs and ladders (including non-standard access points)
  • Crawling, kneeling (low work), and working in awkward/tight positions
  • Strong grip strength (up to 80 lbs. with both hands; up to 30 lbs. with one hand)
  • Hand coordination and overhead/extended reaching
  • Operating equipment, machinery, foot pedals, and hand tools
  • Outdoor work as required (exposure to weather and varying environments)
  • Wearing up to 20 lbs. of PPE, including flame-resistant clothing, welding helmets/shields, and ANSI-rated protective footwear as required
