About the Role

Continuum is seeking a BI Engineer to join our collaborative and pragmatic Business Intelligence team. This role involves end-to-end ownership of data solutions, from design to deployment, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term projects. You will contribute to creating visualizations, engineering ETLs, and supporting operational teams, playing a key part in the entire BI platform. You will report to a Lead Data Engineer and collaborate with senior leadership to deliver data solutions that drive decision-making and product advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer and own robust, scalable ETLs for cleaning and ingesting datasets
  • Build and maintain dashboards for internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement fixes
  • Automate, modularize, and improve existing data ingestions
  • Contribute to orchestration pipelines and expand data quality assurance
  • Materially improve and expand the company’s cloud-based, data platform
  • Implement and/or refine CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, agile, and reporting strategies
  • Gather requirements and translate them into actionable work items
  • Collaborate with software developers and data scientists on cross-departmental solutions
  • Communicate new features and lead trainings for internal users
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and feedback

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of BI platform development and/or data engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and programming
  • Experience with SQL-based databases (Redshift, Athena, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience with one cloud computing service (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Git version control (Bitbucket, GitHub, etc.)
  • Experience with automated tests (unit, integration, etc.)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience validating data accuracy and troubleshooting discrepancies
  • Experience working within an agile framework (Kanban, Scrum, etc.)
  • 1-2 years of IaC tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, etc.)
  • 1-2 years of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • 1-2 years of experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, etc.)
