About the Role

Provides clinical and clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations in a medical practice, including patient preparation, intake, and examination area maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and perform intake activities including vital signs, medication, and allergy documentation.
  • Transcribe and update patient demographic, medication, and medical history in the EMR.
  • Provide clerical and secretarial support, including chart organization and paperwork management.
  • Perform EMR orders reconciliation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stocking of examination areas.
  • Prepare patients for visits to ensure timely flow.
  • Conduct in-office testing and coordinate ancillary services.
  • Collect, prepare, and process specimens and log results.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure upkeep of medical equipment.
  • Coach and educate new colleagues on office procedures.
  • Perform pathology and other audits as assigned.
  • Assist with in-office surgical procedures, including sterile technique and room turnover.
  • Interact with patients and colleagues according to service excellence standards.
  • Fulfill compliance responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of Medical Assistant or secretarial experience, or graduation from a Medical Assistant program.
  • Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or EMT certification.
  • 3 years of job-related experience in a medical office.
  • Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
  • Data entry proficiency.
  • Ability to exert up to 35 lbs of force.
  • Reliable transportation.

Skills

  • Obtaining accurate patient vital signs.
  • Data entry.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Sterile technique.
  • CPR certification (preferred).
  • Bilingual (preferred).
