About the Role

Air Stream Air Conditioning is seeking talented Service Technicians in New York City to maintain and repair commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems. We offer on-the-job training, union school opportunities, and career growth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems.
• Adjust system controls to manufacturer recommendations to balance systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Determine maintenance needs and schedule.
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Discuss system malfunctions with users to isolate problems.
• Generate work orders for deficiencies.
• Inspect and test systems to verify compliance and detect malfunctions.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Reassemble and test equipment after repairs.
• Recommend, develop, and perform preventive maintenance procedures.
• Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and time/materials expended.
• Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
• Follow all procedures and protocols.
• Cooperate with managers and field technicians.
• Share information across the organization.
• Comprehend customer requirements and build positive relationships.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Associates Degree.
• Five or more years of experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting HVAC service issues.
• Clean driving record.
• Clean criminal record.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items.
• Ability to carry and climb ladders.
• Ability to work from heights.
• Ability to work in small crawl spaces.
• Ability to balance, stoop, and kneel.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to drive for extended periods in various conditions.
