About the Role
Gather, interpret, and leverage data to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making and contribute to the success of all linear content distribution deals domestically, in Canada and the Caribbean. This role will develop and provide quantitative analyses to optimize A+E Global Media’s value potential in deal negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze deal economics for traditional MVPDs and vMVPD players.
- Develop and model economic structure for all deals.
- Analyze potential economic incentives for penetration, volume, marketing etc.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal and Business Affairs, and Finance teams to understand economic implications of legal language and help construct economic terms in deals.
- Assess economic risk and opportunity for all deals.
- Help to forecast and track revenue projections to budget over term of deals.
- Maintain and develop current economic tools.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used for analysis.
- Manage annual compliance process and liaison with legal and finance.
- Create clear, concise data visualizations to support decision-making.
- Develop multiplatform data models to assess the economic impact and viewership contribution of linear and non-linear platforms.
- Monitor industry trends, tools, and techniques to enhance analytical processes.
- Use quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify opportunities and solve business problems.
- Recommend and implement process improvements based on findings.
- Prepare comprehensive overview of accounts and liaison with sales lead to develop strategic renewal plans for upcoming deal expirations.
- Work with Research and Sales to determine critical data metrics to be negotiated in distribution deals to develop compelling sales stories for networks/series by account and to mine data and metrics from distribution partners to better position A+E Networks for success.
- Help to monitor changes in Distributor packaging.
- Track and analyze competitive network performance.
- Track and analyze opportunities to underscore the value in deal negotiations.
- Analyze subscriber trends.
- Serve as a point of contact for analytical support.
- Work on quarterly forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Develop decks and presentations for Management meetings, board presentations etc.
- Model new content distribution models.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand business goals and challenges.
- Provide recommendations based on data analysis to optimize revenue, improve performance, or drive strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of media industry experience highly desired. Relevant internship or other experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience in analysis, research, or a related role.
- Solid proficiency in analytical tools and modeling in MS Excel and with MS PowerPoint.
- General understanding of the media entertainment industry and competitive landscape, specifically of Distribution or related revenue generating side of business.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Will be a self-starter that is highly organized, detail oriented with a high level of accuracy, motivated and flexible.
- A drive to succeed in a fast-paced ever-changing industry.
- Ability to interface with multiple departments and varied personalities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
