About the Role

As a Graduate Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Consultant, you will assist senior engineers and the team in the design process to gain a detailed working knowledge of the industry. You will perform detailed design and calculations, assist in preparing specifications, reports, and drawings, and oversee project site works. This role offers opportunities for advancement within a 100% employee-owned organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Engineers with detailed design tasks and drawing production.
  • Develop an understanding of different building materials and techniques.
  • Carry out detailed design calculations and understand computer design packages.
  • Maintain a Continuing Professional Development diary for qualification attainment.
  • Develop an understanding of relevant Legislation, Standards, Building Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
  • Learn design techniques and gain awareness of other design disciplines.
  • Maintain a daily training log recording achievements and experience.
  • Attend site visits and meetings as applicable.
  • Attend required training to achieve Chartered status.
  • Attend and arrange Lunchtime CPDs and Knowledge Sharing sessions.
  • Assist in maintaining QA systems on projects.
  • Oversee project site works snagging and testing as directed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, or equivalent.
  • Good IT knowledge including Microsoft Packages.
  • Personable with a 'can do' attitude and resource management experience.
  • Clear, concise, professional, and personable communication skills.
  • Ability to project a positive and professional attitude.
  • Some knowledge and use of appropriate design analysis software is desirable.
  • Ability to establish rapport and good working relationships with project teams and clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a team.
