About the Role
As a Teacher Assistant, you support the preschool classroom teacher to ensure children have a safe, consistent learning environment. This role helps keep daily instruction organized, children engaged, and classroom routines running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Assist with classroom activities
- Prepare materials
- Support children during transitions
- Maintain a clean and orderly space
- Follow program and safety guidelines
- Communicate observations to the lead teacher
- Work as part of the onsite team
- Arrive onsite and prepare the room for the morning
- Touch base with the lead teacher on the plan for the day
- Keep things moving on the floor
- Guide children through play and learning centers
- Assist with meals and rest time
- Keep supplies ready as the schedule changes
- Share quick updates with the teacher
- Reset the space between activities
- Organize materials for the next morning
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children preferred
- Reliable attendance and steady follow-through
- Clear communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, good judgment, and ability to stay calm in a busy setting
