About the Role
The Alice Center Assisted Living Program is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides (HHAs) for per diem opportunities. This role involves providing resident-centered care, assisting with personal needs, mobility, and daily living activities to promote independence and well-being. Team members are expected to uphold the values of Respect, Efficiency, Accountability, and Caring (REACH).
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and meals.
- Support residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence and preserving dignity.
- Observe, document, and report changes in residents' condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry related to resident care.
- Complete assigned health-related tasks within the Home Health Aide scope of practice and organizational policies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents.
Requirements
- Current New York State Home Health Aide (HHA) certification.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Per diem commitment of at least two shifts per month.
- This is a bargaining union position.
