About the Role
Seeking an experienced engineer to design and develop next-generation interconnect products, focusing on advanced connector and cable solutions that meet performance, reliability, and cost demands for leading technology customers.
Responsibilities
- Review and document customer requirements and design interconnect products in compliance with stated requirements, focusing on ease of manufacturing with high reliability.
- Develop prototypes, oversee testing/qualification, and ensure compliance with industry and customer performance standards.
- Partner with Manufacturing to address cost reduction, quality improvement, and customer issue resolution.
- Stay current with technological trends and emerging interconnect solutions including power interconnect innovations to guide future product development.
- Check and/or approve engineering drawings, parts lists, and test sheets.
- Ensure all ECNs are processed efficiently, effectively, and consistently.
- Interface with customers and suppliers as needed to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in connector and/or cable assembly design and development, or 3+ years of experience in parts design with an understanding of electrical testing and validation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Proficiency in DFMEA to evaluate and mitigate risks in mechanical assemblies and design analyses.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States; unable to provide sponsorship.
- Position requires candidate to be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).
